The Craft

How is the embroidery done?

Yes — entirely. Every stitch on every ARVYN jacket is placed by hand, by a master artisan, using a needle and thread. No machines are involved in the embroidery process. If you look closely at any two ARVYN pieces, you will see small differences in stitch placement, thread tension, and pattern density. That is the hand. That is the proof.

How long does it take to make one jacket?

Between 40 and 80 hours of hand embroidery per piece, depending on the complexity of the motif and the density of the stitch work. This is before construction, before finishing, and before the ARVYN label and lining are sewn in. The full process from start to finished, packaged piece takes several weeks.

Why does my jacket look slightly different from the photos?

Because it is different — and that is exactly correct. Hand embroidery cannot be perfectly replicated. Stitch placement, thread tension, and color transitions vary naturally between pieces made by a human hand. Your jacket is not a production error. It is a one-of-one object. The edition number on your hang tag documents that.

Who makes ARVYN jackets?

We work with a small collective of master embroiderers — craftspeople who have practiced needlework for generations. The skill they carry is passed down by hand, not taught in schools. We don't publish location or workshop details to protect the artisans and their workshops from being commodified. What we can say: the embroidery tradition they practice is one of the most technically demanding needlework disciplines in the world.

Ordering

How do ARVYN drops work?

ARVYN releases pieces in limited drops rather than maintaining permanent stock. Each drop is announced 7 days in advance on Instagram (@weararvyn) and by email to Inner Circle subscribers, who get 24-hour early access. When a style sells out, it's gone. The edition number on your hang tag is permanent documentation of your piece's place in that drop.

Can I reserve a piece before a drop goes live?

Join the Inner Circle (our email list) and you'll receive early access 24 hours before a drop opens publicly. That is the only way to get first access. There is no reservations system outside of this.

Do you restock sold-out pieces?

Styles are occasionally revisited in future drops, but never restocked identically — because each drop is hand-embroidered by a human, the next batch will differ slightly from the last. Edition numbering continues sequentially. If a style returns, it will be noted as a new edition.

Can I order a custom piece?

Custom and bespoke orders are available for wholesale and bulk enquiries. For individual custom pieces, email hello@weararvyn.com with your brief — we handle these case by case depending on artisan availability and lead time.

Sizing & Fit

How does ARVYN sizing work?

ARVYN jackets are designed with a relaxed, unisex fit. We recommend sizing up if you're between sizes or prefer a looser drape. A full size guide with chest, length, and sleeve measurements is available on each product page.

Are ARVYN pieces unisex?

Yes. All ARVYN pieces are designed to be worn by anyone. Sizing is based on body measurements, not gender. The relaxed cut works across body types. If you're unsure, our size guide and the product page measurements will tell you more than a size label will.

Shipping

Where do you ship to?

Currently Australia-wide. International shipping is coming — join the Inner Circle to be notified when your country goes live.

How long does delivery take?

7 to 12 business days Australia-wide from dispatch. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. We dispatch within 2 business days of order confirmation.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — free shipping on all Australian orders over A$150. Orders under A$150 attract a flat shipping fee, shown at checkout.

Can I track my order?

Yes. A tracking link is emailed to you as soon as your order is dispatched. If you haven't received it within 3 business days of ordering, check your spam folder first — then email us at hello@weararvyn.com.

Returns

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for unworn, unaltered pieces in original condition with tags attached. Because each piece is hand-embroidered and individually numbered, we cannot accept returns on worn items or pieces with removed hang tags. To start a return, email hello@weararvyn.com with your order number.

My jacket arrived damaged. What do I do?

Email hello@weararvyn.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the damage. We will resolve it — replacement, repair, or refund, depending on the situation. We stand behind every piece we send.

Can I exchange for a different size?

Size exchanges are subject to availability. Because drops are limited, we cannot guarantee the same style will be available in your preferred size. Email us as early as possible and we'll do our best.

Care

How do I care for my ARVYN jacket?

Dry clean only, or hand wash cold with a gentle detergent — never machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Lay flat to dry. Iron on reverse side only, on the lowest heat setting, and never directly on the embroidery. The hand embroidery is durable but the threads can snag if handled roughly or caught on rough surfaces.

What do I do if a thread snags or comes loose?

Do not pull it. Use a blunt needle or pin to push the loose thread back through to the reverse side of the fabric and secure it. If the snagged thread is long or the issue is more significant, contact us at hello@weararvyn.com — we may be able to advise a repair.

Wholesale

Do you offer wholesale or custom production?

Yes — ARVYN handles custom embroidery, private label production, tech packs, natural dye finishes, and small-batch wholesale. Full details are on our Wholesale page.

What is the minimum order for wholesale?
